The Adrian Peterson saga has become a long, drawn-out affair, but regardless of how it turns out, Minnesota coach Mike Zimmer thinks Peterson will remain with the team. Peterson recently pled no contest to a misdemeanor reckless assault charge after facing felony child abuse charges, and he is currently suspended indefinitely.

Union Appealing Peterson's Suspension

Many have speculated that Minnesota will elect to cut ties with the star running back, who is just two years removed from an MVP campaign that saw him nearly break the single season rushing record.

According to media reports, Peterson feels that some people within the Vikings organization have not been supportive of him during this trying time, and he thinks a fresh start somewhere else might be the best thing for him.

Head coach Mike Zimmer does not expect to see Peterson wearing another uniform, however.

"I think Adrian will be back here," said Zimmer. "You have to ask him. I don't know. But I know he does have an awful lot of people here who have supported him, and I don't know who he's speaking of who doesn't."

Peterson was recently suspended indefinitely by the NFL. He is currently appealing the ruling, but it seems likely that Peterson will miss at least the rest of this season. The upcoming ruling on Ray Rice may play a role in the future handling of Peterson's case, but there are no indications just yet about what exactly will happen in the Rice case.
