Steve Tisch Tim Tebow: Giants Owner Says Jets "Ruined" QB

Add New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch to those of the belief Tim Tebow’s time with the Jets “ruined the career” of the young quarterback.

While speaking with TMZ in Los Angeles Sunday night, Tisch said, “I think him going from the Broncos to the Jets was not in anybody’s interest. Had another team picked him up after the Broncos, maybe he’d have a career.”

As it stands, Tebow remains without a team, and seemingly more and more without hope of that changing anytime soon. The Jets waived the former Florida Gators and Denver Broncos quarterback just hours after the NFL Draft, during which they selected West Virginia signal-caller Geno Smith in the second round.

Long known for his outspoken nature, Tisch, a film industry maven by trade, added Tebow should ignore all potential offers from other leagues, and focus on trying to play quarterback in the NFL.

Last week, however, Yahoo! Sports reported Tebow might be suffering an NFL backlash based on the circus-like atmosphere of “Tebowmania.”

“No NFL team seems to want him--- as a starter, backup, converted H-back or fake-punt decoy---and it’s not like he’s fending off big-money offers from Canada,” Yahoo! Reported.

Writer Michael Silver also quoted an unnamed AFC coach who said: "He seems like a great guy to have on a team, and I'd be tempted to bring him in as our backup. But it's just not worth dealing with all the stuff that comes with it."
