World's No. 2 tennis player Maria Sharapova's biological clock appears to be ticking.

In an otherwise fluff piece about her role as Avon's representative for a new fragrance and her business savvy, the 27-year Russian star threw in a line suggesting that she is at least thinking about life after tennis.

Maria Sharapova's tennis called "average" in 2014, and her coach is taking the heat

Yahoo! Beauty interviewed Sharapova, and before the conversation veered into perfume and her business sense, Sharapova was asked whether there was anything she wasn't good at.

"I am not a great dancer! There are many things I am not great at," Sharapova said. "I haven't perfected cooking because I haven't had the time, but I really love food.

"I really wish that I could be a good cook, especially for my future children one day."

Maria Sharapova says winning Grand Slams is more of a priority than trying to become No. 1

The comment may have an added meaning for Sharapova, who burst on the scene at age 17 when she won Wimbledon over Serena Williams in 2004.

Sharapova has been dating fellow tennis player Grigor Dimitrov for well over a year, but few rumors have tossed out on anything more serious between the two.

Recently, Sharapova revealed that the focus of her tennis for 2015, at least, is not the No. 1 ranking, although she had a chance to surpass Williams at the season-ending WTA Tour Finals in Singapore but failed to capitalize.

After that tournament, Sharapova told the BBC that "I will not be chasing the number one ranking next season. I think adding more Grand Slams is the top priority."

Sharapova had a fairly productive 2014, winning the French Open and moving her ranking up from No. 4 in the world to No. 2 after overcoming a significant shoulder injury toward the end of 2013.

But she also extended her losing streak to Williams to 15 matches since beating her at the Tour Championship in Los Angeles, later in 2004.

Indicating what her goals are in 2014 seems to address any immediate concerns about her tennis future giving way to a family life.

But her comment shows that Sharapova does see a finish line for her tennis.
