With WWE Superstar Chris Jericho officially wrapping up his latest stint with the WWE earlier this month, the two sides are negotiating a new deal that could see "Y2J" appear at the Royal Rumble in January.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Jericho is advertised for a WWE live event in Las Vegas on Jan. 17 and is expected to appear at other WWE events in the New Year. Jericho is also reportedly still working out a new contract with the WWE.

Both sides appear confident that a deal will get done and that Jericho will work several live events in January and February. It seems as though the WWE is bringing him back for untelevised events, possibly as a way to spike attendance, but he may not be on televised shows this winter.

It has been reported that Jericho will work house shows during those two months, but won't appear on RAW, SmackDown or pay-per-views, though the Royal Rumble remains a possibility.

Jericho reportedly didn't want to be on television during the WWE's tour through Europe because he didn't want his return to T.V. to not be a big deal.

Jericho's reasoning for not wanting to compete on television during the European tour could very well be the same thing factoring into the negotiations between the two sides right now.

Jericho appeared on television just once during the European tour in a "Highlight Reel" segment with The Authority for SmackDown in Liverpool, England on Nov. 14.

Jericho has said he will not be a part of WrestleMania 31 on March 29, 2015 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., but things could always change. Jericho's band Fozzy's tour through Europe wraps up on March 21.

Jericho is also advertised for the WWE live event at the Izod Center in New Jersey on Jan. 24, which is the eve of the Royal Rumble. It is possible that Jericho could serve as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble Match on Jan. 25 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

"Y2J" returned from his latest hiatus in June and entered a summer-long program with Bray Wyatt before turning his attention to Randy Orton at Night of Champions in September. Jericho then toured with the WWE through Europe earlier this month before wrapping up his current run.

Jericho will likely be involved with the WWE in January, but it remains to be seen if he'll return to television.
