Apparently Colin Kaepernick doesn't have any issue with what coach Jim Harbaugh says - or doesn't say - to the media about him.

Kaepernick mimicked Harbaugh's focus-only-on-the-next-game mentality in an interview about the San Francisco 49ers upcoming game against the Washington Redskins on Sunday, according to 49ers.com.

Harbaugh Refuses To Answer Whether He Thinks QB Colin Kaepernick Is Elite

A day earlier, a reporter asked Harbaugh a loaded question about Kaepernick, asking what the coach thought the quarterback needed to do to become an elite player. Harbaugh responded by saying only that he gets lots of questions regarding Kaepernick's room for improvement and that his only focus was on the Redskins.

On Wednesday, Kaepernick was asked whether he would want a coach that praises him constantly in the media or points out deficiencies that he needs to correct.

"I want a coach that tells me what I need to do to win," Kaepernick said.

The exchange went on:

"What about in front of the media?" the reporter asked.

"Doesn't matter," Kaepernick replied.

"Doesn't matter? So the way Washington head coach Jay Gruden called out RGIII this week with his footwork and what he says to the team, would that bother you as a player if head coach Jim Harbaugh did that?"

"I'm going to do whatever it takes to help this team win," Kaepernick reiterated.

Ironically, the 49ers are 6-4 this season, which is the identical record the team had at this point last season. Kaepernick led last season's team into the NFC Championship Game, in which the 49ers' game-winning drive stalled in the Seattle Seahawks red zone in a 23-17 loss in Seattle.

The Seahawks went on to rout the Denver Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl.

Kaepernick fielded other questions on Wednesday but wasn't any more enlightening on them, either:

"How do you think you've been playing of late?"

"Need to play better," Kaepernick said.

"Can you point to anything?"

"Plays here and there we have to be better on," he said.

"Why do you think consistency has eluded you at times? You make some brilliant throws and then throws that are not as good as the others."

"It's part of football. It's always a work in progress. Trying to do the best I can out there," Kaepernick said.
