WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan was a big part of the WrestleMania 31 ticket release party from the site of the Show of Shows at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. over the weekend and he discussed his health and a possible return to the ring.
Bryan spoke with Comcast Sports Net live from Levi's Stadium and promoted WrestleMania 31 on March 29, 2015 from the venue and also spoke about his injury.
Bryan has been out since mid-May after undergoing surgery on his neck to repair damage he accumulated over the years due to his in-ring style.
The timetable for Bryan's return has been unclear as he lost feeling in his right arm following the surgery and may require another procedure to fix the problem.
While there have been reports that Bryan will in fact require another operation, he told the affiliate he wasn't sure when he was going to return to action and if the surgery was necessary.
"I'm not actually sure, nobody really knows when I'll be back," Bryan told the program. "I'm hoping to be back in January and be ready for WrestleMania here at Levi's Stadium, but there's no way to know. Right now, there's contemplation of doing a second surgery to my elbow, but we just don't really know. We're doing our best to get me back and healthy."
Bryan is no stranger to WrestleMania, having won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the Show of Shows this past April, and he promoted the event on the show.
"Our big event is WrestleMania, it's gonna be WrestleMania 31 here at Levi's Stadium," Bryan said. "Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 9 a.m. It should be packed here. There should be over 70,000 people I would imagine and it's a pretty awesome spectacle."
Bryan was also asked about San Francisco Giants outfielder Hunter Pence using his "YES!" chant as a motivational tool throughout the MLB playoffs, which saw the Giants top the Kansas City Royals in seven games.
"Borrowed? He out right stole it," Bryan joked. "How he actually stumbled upon it I'm not sure...He thought it was awesome."
It remains uncertain when Bryan will return to the squared circle, but there is hope he can return by the Royal Rumble in January or WrestleMania 31 in March.
