Earlier this year, the internet blew up with engagement rumors about Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his girlfriend Olivia Munn, star of HBO's The Newsroom. Rodgers had attended a premiere event with Munn and overheard her talking about a ring that she wore during the event and how much she liked it. Being the great guy that he is, Rodgers went and bought the ring and surprised Munn with it in October.

Why Rodgers and Munn are a Winning Combo

Naturally, engagement rumors began to swirl immediately. Munn quickly quelled those rumors, saying that while the ring was special to her, it was not the special kind of ring that fueled so much internet speculation. Rodgers later downplayed the situation also, but should he be so quick to dismiss the idea of an engagement with Munn?

Should Rodgers and Munn get engaged, the natural comparison to draw would be to the marriage of Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen. Given how well that seems to have worked out for Brady, maybe Rodgers should give the matter some more thought. After all, Rodgers is already widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and he has a Super Bowl title and a league MVP award.

Rodgers and Munn Spotted on Double Date

Brady's marriage to Gisele made him more than just a star quarterback. It made him an icon. With the way Rodgers is playing this year (he threw six touchdown passes in one half just last week), more awards could be on the way. Popping the question to Munn could be the last step to becoming a global icon for Aaron Rodgers.
