Former WWE Superstar CM Punk and current WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee were married in the summer and the "Best in the World" took to Twitter to acknowledge the couple reaching a six-month milestone.

Lee took time off from the WWE from April-June to move in with Punk in Chicago and the two tied the knot sometime during the summer.

Punk took to Twitter to acknowledge their marriage reaching the six-month plateau:

Lee responded to the tweet with one of her own, but it has since been removed as she opted to just re-tweet his sentiment.

"@CMPunk And to think 2 years ago you were bro'ing me on tv...also define 'maimed'," the WWE Divas Champion wrote.

While Lee remains a prominent figure on WWE television, Punk chose to walk away from wrestling and has since been referred to as a retired wrestler by close friends.

Punk walked out on the WWE back in January a day after the Royal Rumble due to his frustration over the way his character was being used as well as due to being burned out by the rigorous traveling schedule of the company.

Punk has made many public appearances since his departure, but has not shown any desire to come back to the ring anytime soon, even going as far as to tell a reporter at the AP Music Awards that he was "never ever" returning to the squared circle.

The WWE has kept the mentions of Punk to a minimum, even keeping his cameo appearance in the WWE Studios movie Queen of the Ring out of advertisements on YouTube and WWE.com.

Punk recently revealed that he will be working on a project for Marvel that is due to come out some time in February in yet another endeavor outside of the ring for him.

The WWE has chosen not to punish Lee for her husband's transgressions and for her relationship with someone who is on bad terms with the company.

Lee returned from her hiatus on the June 30 edition of Monday Night RAW and immediately won the WWE Divas Championship back from Paige. She has since lost and regained the gold over the past few months.

While Punk continues his life outside the squared circle, Lee is still traveling with the company as their marriage reaches the six-month milestone.

Lee will defend the WWE Divas Championship against Nikki Bella at the Survivor Series live from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis on Nov. 23.
