Former WWE Superstar CM Punk is no longer active in the wrestling realm, but he is lending his creativity to another world as he will be working with Marvel on a new project and the "Best in the World" recently opened up about the project and what it entails.

Punk will be working alongside artist Rob Guillory to write Thor Annual #1 from Marvel Comics in a project due out in February.

Punk, who walked out on the WWE in January, spoke to Marvel.com about the project and was asked how it came about.

"I can't remember, and I knew you were gonna ask me that," Punk told the website. "I've been thinking for the past two hours like, 'How did this all come about?' I mean, you know I've been pestering people at Marvel."

Punk, who has written a comic script before, was asked if his influence in portraying a wrestling character for all these years helped out in the creative process.

"You know, I think I'm more suited for it just because I've been reading comic books my entire life," Punk said. "Wearing tights in front of thousands of people and kind of, almost play-acting, I think down the road, it might give me some sort of insight depending on what kind of characters I'm writing and what the story is, but I'm not really sure it prepared me so much for being able to script a comic book."

He added: "I'm definitely prepared to fall flat on my face, I think. If anything, [wrestling] got me used to understanding that failure is part of a process, and the only real failure is if you don't try. Like I could be nervous and bite my fingernails, worried that I think my book is gonna be a piece of crap, but I could be not doing it, and that would be the true failure."

Punk walked out on the WWE back in January a day after the Royal Rumble due to his frustration over the way his character was being used as well as due to being burned out by the rigorous travel schedule of the company.

Punk has made many public appearances since his departure, but has not seemed to want to come back to the ring anytime soon, even going as far as to tell a reporter at the AP Music Awards that he was "never ever" returning to the squared circle.

While Punk may not make waves in the squared circle anytime soon, he will mix it up creatively when he works with Marvel in early 2015.
