The WWE may be planning on doing a power struggle storyline between Vince McMahon and Triple H leading into WrestleMania 31 based on McMahon's return to television on Monday Night RAW this week.

Backstage Plans For Randy Orton Going Forward

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that there is a feeling that McMahon's return to RAW is building toward something bigger for WrestleMania 31 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. on March 29, 2015.

McMahon came back to WWE television and told Triple H that if Team Authority loses to Team Cena at Survivor Series on Nov. 23 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, The Authority will lose their power in the WWE.

Update On Rey Mysterio's WWE Contract Status

John Cena will captain a traditional Survivor Series team to take on one formed by The Authority in a five-on-five elimination tag team match.

Cena has already recruited Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler for his team while Triple H revealed that Seth Rollins will captain Team Authority and have Kane on the squad. Both teams are set to add three more participants.

One person that won't be in attendance on Nov. 23 is Randy Orton, as the WWE wrote him out of storylines to give him time off to film the WWE Studios movie The Condemned 2. The company had Rollins and Kane viciously attack Orton to write him off of television.

WWE.com released the following storyline update on Orton on Tuesday:

"Randy exhibited symptoms of a concussion after the Curb Stomp on the announcer's desk," WWE physician Dr. Stephen Daquino told the website. "He also had some facial contusions. Currently he is not cleared to compete and his return timetable is undetermined."

There is an idea that the storyline between Vince McMahon and Triple H and Stephanie McMahon will lead to a struggle for power between the two sides ultimately culminating in some sort of match at WrestleMania 31.

These plans were also rumored for WrestleMania XXX in April in New Orleans, but were obviously scrapped as Triple H took on Daniel Bryan, who eventually left the Mercedes-Benz Superdome as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Vince McMahon was advertised for shows leading into WrestleMania XXX, and there was talk of Triple H taking on "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, but those plans were dropped. Austin has been linked to return rumors this year, but he has vehemently denied the speculation.

There have been rumors and hints that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will take on Triple H at the Show of Shows, so it is possible that McMahon will recruit The Rock and have him face Triple H with control of the WWE hanging in the balance.

Other rumored matches for WrestleMania 31 include Rusev vs. Cena, Undertaker vs. Sting if things align and Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

It remains to be seen what the WWE has in store for WrestleMania 31, but the return of McMahon on Monday night seems to intimate that the power struggle storyline could come to fruition.
