Georgia running back Todd Gurley has been suspended two more games by the NCAA and will be reinstated for the No. 11 Bulldogs matchup against the No. 3 Auburn Tigers.
Gurley’s ruling comes after the NCAA revealed that the Heisman Trophy hopeful accepted more than $3,000 for autographed memorabilia while at the university. Georgia official have stated they will appeal the ruling on behalf of Gurley.

The NCAA released a statement concerning Gurley, saying his punishment "is consistent with precedent in similar cases. Additional withholding was strongly considered because the violations occurred over multiple years with multiple individuals and the student received extensive rules education about the prohibition of receiving payment for autographs."
"The university's due diligence in its investigation and the student's full disclosure of his involvement in the violations were factors in not imposing a more severe withholding condition.”
Gurley has rushed for 773 yards and eight touchdowns on 8.2 yards per carry this season. He was listed among the Heisman Trophy favorites favorites before his suspension. When Gurley is reinstated he will have missed four games which likely will eliminate him from Heisman consideration.
Archie Manning Steps Down from College Football Selection Committee
Georgia is ranked No. 11 in the country by the College Football Playoff Selection Committee and beating No. 3 Auburn is their last chance to impress the committee before they come to their final decision at the end of December.
Gurley, a junior, is expected to be a first-round pick if he decides to enter the NFL Draft.
