With John Cena being established as the new No. 1 contender to Brock Lesnar's WWE World Heavyweight Championship, there have been reports that the two will face-off at the Royal Rumble in January, but that may not be the case.

Five Potential Partners For John Cena At Survivor Series

Cena defeated Randy Orton in a cell match at Hell in a Cell on Sunday at the American Airlines Center in Dallas to become the No. 1 contender for Lesnar's gold. Lesnar, on a part-time contract, isn't expected to wrestle again for the WWE until January which will be his first match since September, but the organization is reportedly working on adding more dates.

It was assumed that Lesnar won't be fight a match until meeting Cena at the Royal Rumble on Jan. 25 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, but according to a recent advertisement for the event, Cena is expected to be in the 30-man over-the-tope-rope match.

Dolph Ziggler Comments On Possible Sting vs. Undertaker Match

"Royal Rumble's main event is a battle royal, over-the-top-rope, 30-man elimination match where only one wrestler will be left standing," the venue stated in an advertisement, according to Wrestlingheadlines.com. "WWE Superstars John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Kane and many more fight it out in the City of Brotherly Love for a chance to compete in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania 31."

The site went on to single out Cena's participation in the match, which seems to indicate strongly that he is expected to partake in the Rumble Match. Cena has won the bout twice, with the first coming in 2008 and the last coming in 2013.

"John Cena is the face of the WWE, and one of the most decorated wrestlers in history," the ad reads. "He has 15 reigns as World Champion, and the two-time Rumble winner is looking to become just the second superstar in history to win the Rumble three times. The 12-year veteran has also won the United States Championship, the World Tag Team Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championship."

If Cena were to win the match again, he'd join "Stone Cold" Steve Austin (1997, 1998 and 2001) as the only man to win it three times.

There were rumors that Cena would face Lesnar and likely lose while Roman Reigns would win the 30-man Rumble Match and take on Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 on March 29, 2015, but the plans could have changed.

Things could switch and the venue could be wrong, but it seems like Lesnar vs. Cena IV will not take place at the Royal Rumble.
