What: College Football Playoff Top 25

When: 7:30 PM ET, October 28, 2014

TV Schedule: ESPN

Live Stream: ESPN

The College Football Playoff Selection Committee will release their first rankings Tuesday night on ESPN and start the home stretch of the college football season.

The voters are from all different conferences and all have an alliance to different teams, but the rules in place prevent any favoritism toward a specific team. The group has specific rules they must follow in order to come up with their top 25 teams, but the most important of them all is the fact that they cannot look at the AP Poll when making their decision.

Many expect Mississippi State, Florida State and Alabama to come out as the top three teams in the country, but the loss by Ole Miss this past weekend creates a free-for-all for that fourth and final spot. Some would still slot the Rebels over Alabama due to their head-to-head matchup, but we will find out Tuesday night.

No. 1 Mississippi State and No. 3 Alabama will meet November 15 and the loser will likely drop out of these rankings regardless of where they stand after tonight.

The College Football Playoff begins January 1 and the selection of the four teams will be decided during the last weeks of December.
