No. 20 USC Trojans (-EVEN) (5-2, 4-1 Pac-12)
No. 19 Utah Utes (5-1, 2-1 Pac-12)

The No. 19 Utah Utes host the No. 20 USC Trojans in the second game of the week that pits two ranked opponents against one another.

USC coach Steve Sarkisian spoke about his team’s season to this point and had nothing but praise for quarterback Cody Kessler. Kessler will once again have to step his level of play up as the Trojans will be short handed in the run game without star tailback Javorius Allen.

"We coach this guy harder than any other guy on our team, and he accepts it, and he comes to work every day with the mindset to get better," coach Steve Sarkisian said of Kessler.

Sarkisian stressed the Trojans ability to run the ball and their ability to get stops on defense. He said that if USC can do those two things consistently that his team is one of the better ones in the nation.

"When you are a team that believes in running the football, you have to make defenses pay for loading the box, you have to have the ability to throw the ball down the field," Sarkisian said. "When you have those two things going for you, then life is good.”

USC has a tough road to end the season as they will face No. 25 UCLA on November 22 and then No. 7 Notre Dame on November 29. Utah’s road isn't any better as they play No. 14 Arizona State on November 1, No. 6 Oregon on November 8, Stanford on November 15 and No. 15 Arizona on November 22. Tough times are ahead for these two squads.

USC leads the all-time series against Utah 9-3 and the Trojans have taken three-straight against the Utes. USC topped this Utah team 19-3 in 2013.
