The No. 3 Ole Miss Rebels gets their last chance to impress the College Football Playoff Selection Committee before the first rankings are released in an SEC battle with the newly-ranked No. 24 LSU Tigers.

Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze spoke about holding Tennessee to zero net rushing yards last week and said if his team is going to beat LSU they will have to have a better effort. LSU averages 220.9 yards per game on the ground, good for 30th in the nation.

"The last two weeks, (LSU has) gotten back to doing their bread and butter -- that's physical (play), controlling the clock," Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze said. "They're able to run the football with the outstanding backs that they have.”

LSU coach Les Miles had nothing but praise for the No. 3 Rebels and they coach and he believes that this could be the most talented team the Tigers will play this season.

"Coach Freeze is doing a great job building a quality program," Miles said. "They are a very talented team on both sides of the ball. Ole Miss has a style of team that deserves being nationally ranked and deserves the best efforts of their opponents.”

Ole Miss allows a the fewest points per game in the country with 10.6 and will face No. 5 Auburn November 1 and No. 1 Mississippi State on November 29. LSU has a date with No. 4 Alabama next weekend.

LSU leads the all-time series against Ole Miss 58-40-4 and the Tigers have taken three of the last five matchups. The Rebels won the 2013 matchup with the Tigers by the score of 27-24.
