Tonight at 8:25 p.m. ET on CBS and NFL Network the Denver Broncos (5-1) will host the San Diego Chargers (5-2) in an AFC West clash that might have major playoff implications down the road. The Broncos have to avoid a letdown effort in this game following Peyton Manning's historic outing on Sunday. Manning became the NFL's all-time leader in touchdown passes, passing Brett Favre. He threw four touchdown passes in total on Sunday, pushing his career mark to 510.

Manning has already moved past that though, as first place in the AFC West is on the line. "We're playing a great team in the Chargers, a team we're very familiar with, as they are with us," Manning said. "They beat us last year, so we got to get ready on this short week."

Manning's counterpart Philip Rivers is having a stellar season in his own right, despite a disappointing campaign thus far from his top receiver Keenan Allen. Rivers has thrown 17 touchdown passes in 2014 against just three interceptions, and averages 280 yards a week.

He will be the chief concern for a Broncos defense that has improved greatly from last season, but can be susceptible from time to time in the passing game.

"He's a tremendous competitor," Broncos head coach John Fox said. "We go way back. When I was in the Carolinas, he played at N.C. State, so I had a chance to watch him perform. I know a lot about him as a competitor. I know myself and our organization and our team have great respect for him."
