Peyton Manning cemented himself in the NFL record books Sunday night as he passed Brett Favre to become the all-time leader in touchdown passes in the NFL.

Manning tossed an 8-yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas with 3:09 remaining in the first half to give him the record and give the Broncos a 21-3 lead against the San Francisco 49ers. Manning was then showered in applause from fans and congratulations from his teammates.

Manning spoke after the game and said that he didn’t believe the record was possible as of a few years ago.

"I've discussed with some family and friends recently that [I] certainly didn't think this would even be a possibility a couple of years ago," Manning said after the game. " ... I'm really enjoying playing here, playing for this organization.”

Manning ended the night with four touchdown passes and currently sits at 510, 109 of the touchdowns coming as a member of the Broncos. The ball that Manning broke the all-time record with will be transported to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio and will be on display Monday.

Manning and the Broncos will take on the San Diego Chargers on Thursday Night Football this week and will attempt to improve to 6-1 on the season.
