Jordan Crawford Carmelo Anthony: Celtics G Jordan Crawford Nearly Sparks Brawl With Comments About Carmelo Anthony's Wife

The Celtics avoided elimination once again Wednesday night, topping the Knicks 92-86 in Madison Square Garden to force a Game 6. Unfortunately, the big story is what happened after the final buzzer, when Celtics reserve Jordan Crawford was seen shouting at Knicks star Carmelo Anthony, which nearly incited a fracas involving Knicks point guard Raymond Felton.

According to Deadspin.com, Crawford allegedly made a lewd comment about Anthony's wife having an affair with another Celtics player, a reference to rumors that Celtics forward Kevin Garnett told Anthony during the regular season that his wife "tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios."

Video captured the incident, and it is clear that Crawford said something to enrage Felton, who had to be restrained by several players and officials. After the game Anthony did not fan the flames, saying, "I'm not thinking about no Jordan Crawford. Not at this point in time. I'll tell you that. I don't even think he deserves for you to be typing right now."

Crawford made a bizarre comment when he was asked about the incident saying, "Not me. You'd better go talk to somebody who was there."

The Celtics have shown all season an ability to get inside the Knicks' heads and frustrate them. In Game 3, Jason Terry goaded Sixth Man of the Year J.R. Smith into throwing an elbow and earning a Game 4 suspension. The Celtics won Game 4, and in last night's contest Smith was a putrid 3-of-14 from the field, scoring 14 points in 36 minutes of floor time.

Meanwhile, Terry scored 17 points for Boston and was lethal from beyond the arc, sinking 5-of-9 3-pointers. The Knicks arrived to the arena dressed in all black, funeral attire, for the implied "burial" of the Celtics season. Instead, the Knicks were psyched out and instead of getting buried, the Celtics seem more alive than ever heading back home for Game 6.
