It's well-known that WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee and former WWE Superstar CM Punk are married, and Paige used this heat during a recent match with Lee at a live event when the fans began to chant for the "Best in the World."

WWE SmackDown Spoilers For Friday

Ever since her return from her hiatus in late June, Lee has been peppered with "CM Punk" chants from the WWE Universe, and it appears as though Paige acknowledged those chants at a recent untelevised WWE live event.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Paige, who has responded to Punk chants in the past, did so again this week. Lee responded to the crowd chanting for Punk this past weekend during a match with Lee.

Daniel Bryan Unlikely To Return For January's Royal Rumble

"Her name's AJ and she sucks," Paige yelled in response to the fans, according to the site.

Punk has been out of the WWE picture since he left the company in January due to his frustration over the way his character was being used as well as due to being burned out by the rigorous travel schedule the WWE has.

There were rumors that Punk would eventually return, however his contract with the company expired in July and things were said to be "worse than ever" between the two sides, according to an inside source at the time.

Things likely only got worse after Punk's lawyers recently sent the WWE a 22-page letter over royalties stemming from the company using his likeness in the WWE 2K15 video game.

Punk has made many public appearances since his departure, but has not seemed to want to return to the ring anytime soon, even going as far as to tell a reporter at the AP Music Awards that he was "never ever" returning to the squared circle.

Lee took time off from the WWE on the night after WrestleMania XXX, a night which Paige made her debut and defeated her for the Divas Championship, in order to move in with Punk and the two were married in mid-June.

Lee then returned to the WWE on the June 30 edition of Monday Night RAW, but Punk has shown no signs of a return brewing.

Punk was reportedly offered a lucrative deal by TNA -- a rumor which the company disputed, but still carries weight -- and also appeared backstage at an Ohio Valley Wrestling event, but it doesn't appear as though a return to the ring for any company is imminent.

One thing that is certain is that wherever Lee goes, the WWE Universe will still continue to pepper her with chants for her husband.
