The No. 2 Auburn Tigers face the No. 3 Mississippi State Bulldogs in the game of the week that received a shot in the arm after last week's series of upsets.

Both Auburn and Mississippi State are coming off huge wins in the SEC as the Tigers topped then-ranked No. 15 LSU and the Bulldogs beat then-ranked No. 6 Texas A&M. Despite being the newest darling of the college football season, Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen says things have not changed for his program.

"I'm still just down there in the meetings trying to figure out how to score some points and how to shut the other team down," Mullen said.

ESPN's "College Gameday” will be in attendance for the No. 2 vs. No. 3 matchup that will likely give the winner a huge boost when it comes time to decide who will play in the college football playoff.

With Georgia’s Todd Gurley being suspended indefinitely, Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott has the inside track on the Heisman Trophy. A win against the No. 2 ranked Tigers could cement his spot as a Heisman hopeful.

Auburn leads the all-time series against Mississippi State 61-24-2 and have won 11 of the last 13 against the Bulldogs. The Tigers rank among the league's top three teams in scoring, total and run defense while not allowing 21 points in five straight contests.
