The No. 13 Georgia Bulldogs find themselves in a tough spot as they will take on the No. 23 Missouri Tigers on the road, without Heisman Trophy hopeful Todd Gurley.

Georgia coach Mark Richt said the team is very disappointed with the indefinite suspension, but that the important part is that the team focuses on Missouri and the task at hand.

“Georgia star tailback Todd Gurley has been suspended indefinitely while the school investigates an alleged violation of NCAA rules, leaving the 13th-ranked Bulldogs without one of the leading contenders for the Heisman Trophy when they visit No. 23 Missouri in a crucial SEC Eastern Division game Saturday.

Georgia officials did not reveal the alleged violation Thursday.”

Gurley leads the Bulldogs with 773 yards rushing and eight touchdowns and was on his way to winniner the Heisman Trophy before the allegations and suspension. Gurley is expected to miss two or three games for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs face a Tigers team that is hungry for another huge SEC victory as they knocked off the then-ranked No. 13 South Carolina Gamecocks last week. If not for a slip up against Indiana, the Tigers could very well be ranked ahead of the Bulldogs going into this game.

Georgia leads the all-time series against Missouri 2-1, but the Tigers won last year’s matchup 41-26. That margin of victory is the largest in series history.
