The WWE could be without its World Heavyweight Champion for the rest of 2015 as Brock Lesnar is reportedly not expected to be back in the company until January.
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, while it was rumored that Lesnar would return for a quick feud with The Big Show, that is said to no longer be happening and Lesnar likely won't return to the WWE until January.
Lesnar is not expected to be back until it is time for him to promote his Royal Rumble match, which is rumored to see him take on John Cena.
Lesnar defeated Cena for the WWE Championship in dominant fashion at SummerSlam on Aug. 17 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and then retained the gold against Cena at Night of Champions on Sept. 21 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville via disqualification after outside interference from Seth Rollins.
Lesnar is not booked for Hell in a Cell on Oct. 26 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas and it looks as though he won't be at November's Survivor Series or December's Tables Ladders and Chairs.
With Lesnar gone, it appears as though the WWE is going with the idea of keeping Paul Heyman off of television until Lesnar is ready to return in January.
A video surfaced on YouTube of Heyman cutting an untelevised promo at Tuesday night's SmackDown tapings, but the promo is not expected to air on Friday's 15th anniversary show.
Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that the WWE is going with the idea of keeping Heyman off of television for a while and he wasn't at this past Monday's RAW episode that emanated from Brooklyn despite the fact that Heyman is a New York native.
The WWE could change its mind, but the feeling is Heyman appearing without Lesnar draws attention to the fact that the WWE World Heavyweight Champion isn't on WWE television regularly and is missing pay-per-views.
It appears as though Lesnar and Heyman will be off of television until January when the company begins to build toward WrestleMania season.
