The WWE is teasing a match between Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Triple H for WrestleMania 31 on March 29, 2015 from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
There was a backstage segment that aired at Tuesday's SmackDown tapings that are set to hit the airwaves on Friday -- and were likely taped during Johnson's surprise return on Monday Night RAW -- that featured Johnson, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon and reportedly teased a future match.
Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that there was a tease for a WrestleMania match between the two during the segment and at least one other time during the tapings.
There was talk this past year about doing Johnson vs. Triple H at WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans, but that never came to fruition and The Rock was in the opening segment with Hulk Hogan and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin while Triple H took on Daniel Bryan.
According to the report, the backstage segment featured the two Superstars going back and forth on who would win a match if they were to once again go one-on-one and the two took shots at each other.
Johnson reportedly brought up the main event of WrestleMania 31, which usually isn't done on WWE television unless it's locked in, but that remains to be seen.
There have been reports that the WWE has locked in the main event for WrestleMania 31 already, but most believe that it will be WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns.
Johnson has said in the past that he is hopeful to return to the WWE and have another match -- likely at WrestleMania 31 -- and that he would compete if he had the right opponent and the right situation.
There were rumors following their segment on RAW that Johnson would battle Rusev at WrestleMania, but that remains unlikely.
Johnson and Triple H had many memorable clashes throughout the year, but they've never had a one-on-one WrestleMania match. The two were involved in a Fatal 4 Way along with Mick Foley and The Big Show in the main event of WrestleMania 2000.
It appears as though The Rock vs. Triple H could very well happen at WrestleMania 31 in March 2015.
