Denver Broncos running back Montee Ball is expected to be out ‘awhile’ after suffering a major groin injury in the team’s 41-20 win against the previously undefeated Arizona Cardinals.
Ball was injured while blocking in the third quarter on Peyton Manning's 20-yard completion to Emmanuel Sanders. Ball was helped off the field and was diagnosed with a groin injury soon after. Ronnie Hillman and Juwan Thompson were solid in relief of Balla and rushed for a combined 80 yards the rest of the game.
Raiders Owner Wanted to Draft Derek Carr at No. 5 Overall
Ball has rushed for seven yards on six carried before leaving with the injury and had 55 attempts for 172 yards on the season. Ball also has nine catches for 62 yards for the Broncos this season. If Ball is out for an extended period of time, look for Denver to go back to their running-back-by-committee approach with Hillman and Thompson.
The Broncos topped the undefeated Cardinals on Sunday and will travel to New York to play the 1-4 Jets after they were shutout by San Diego Chargers.
The #Broncos are bracing for a major groin injury to RB Montee Ball… which is bad. Ronnie Hillman looking sharp makes it not as bad
