The No. 10 Michigan State Spartans take on the No. 19 Nebraska Cornhuskers in a battle of the best teams in the Big Ten on a very down year.

Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio said this game will come down to making big plays. He said when the teams know each other as well as Michigan State and Nebraska do, it comes down to who executes better.

“Obviously we have a little bit of experience playing those teams for the most part,” Dantonio said. “So there is some history there and that history counts as far as knowing their personnel and things of that nature. Every team is different every year and how they use their people.

“Secondly, it starts here. You can do whatever you want out of conference, but inside the conference there is more on the line. I just think that’s the way it is and certainly our first game Nebraska is a big one.”

Both these teams are looking for their first quality win of the season as they have played subpar competition to this point. Michigan State played and lost to Oregon, but after the Ducks' loss to Arizona that loss hurts a little more.

Nebraska leads the all-time series against the Spartans 6-1, but Michigan State topped the Cornhuskers last season to the tune of 41-28. The winner of this game has the inside track to a Big Ten title and a possible trip to the college football playoff.
