CM Punk walked out on the WWE in January and has not returned since, but Stephanie McMahon said in an interview to "never say never" about a possible return to the company for the "Best in the World."
McMahon appeared on WGN Morning News Monday morning to promote Monday's episode of RAW that emanates from the Allstate Arena in Chicago and to also plug the WWE's partnership with Susan G. Komen for their third annual breast cancer awareness campaign.
Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that McMahon was asked about the possibility of Punk, a Chicago native, returning to the WWE down the line.
"Never say never," McMahon said in a simple response that she didn't expand on.
Regarding Punk, it has been said in the past that things are worse than ever between the former WWE Superstar and the company.
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, the WWE edited out the crowd reaction to Punk being revealed during Part 1 of the WWE 2K15 roster reveal that is currently on the WWE Network.
Renee Young and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin named the stars on the roster during the reveal and when Punk's name was mentioned, there was no crowd noise. According to the report, it appears likely that Young had to do a simple voice-over with Punk's name and the company used that in place of the actual reaction.
Punk walked out on the WWE in January due to frustration with the way he was being booked and the rigorous travel schedule.
While McMahon has said to never say never, Punk recently said that he was "never ever" returning to the squared circle.
