The WWE may be preparing to broadcast Hell in a Cell on Oct. 26 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas without the WWE World Heavyweight Champion as Brock Lesnar is reportedly not expected to appear at the event to defend the belt.
Three Top Stars Expected To Have Big Roles At WrestleMania 31
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lesnar is not scheduled to appear at Hell in a Cell next month and the Oct. 26 event is not part of his schedule.
Reports came out earlier this week that another Lesnar vs. John Cena match was not slated for Hell in a Cell, now it appears that Lesnar won't be at the event altogether.
Sports World News Projected Card For Hell in a Cell
Lesnar defeated Cena in dominant fashion for the title at SummerSlam on Aug. 17 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and then Cena picked up a disqualification victory over Lesnar Sunday in Nashville at Night of Champions after Seth Rollins interfered.
It seemed as though the DQ finish set up a Hell in a Cell stipulation match against Cena on Oct. 26 at the event of the same name, but it seems the WWE isn't going that direction and it remains unknown which combatants will actually go head-to-head in the cell match.
Lesnar was originally scheduled to work WrestleMania XXX, where he defeated The Undertaker and ended The Streak and then work a program with Daniel Bryan for SummerSlam and Night of Champions while his future beyond that was murky and remains that way.
Bryan sustained a neck injury in mid-May and the WWE gave Cena the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship to take Bryan's place and feud with Lesnar, but now that Night of Champions is over, it is unknown when Lesnar's next appearance will be despite the fact that he's holding the gold.
Lesnar is expected to battle Roman Reigns, who is currenlty injured (hernia), at WrestleMania 31 in March, but inbetween now and the Royal Rumble his schedule remains a mystery.
Lesnar skipped Monday's RAW and flew out of Tennessee on Monday morning hours before the company's flagship show went live at the FedEx Forum in Memphis. There were reports that his manager Paul Heyman would appear to speak for him, but the WWE opted to keep Heyman and Lesnar off the show.
There were rumors that Lesnar was unhealthy and having heart problems due to him sweating profusely and turning red then purple early on in his match Sunday against Cena, but the WWE debunked that theory in a statement to The Washington Post.
WWE Hell in a Cell takes place live on Oct. 26 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas and it appears as though Lesnar and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will not be appearing.
