The uniforms are deep red with white stripes on the waist and shoulders and a big blue W in the center of the jersey.
The 2015 game will mark the seventh annual NHL Winter Classic and the second game apiece for the Capitals and Blackhawks. Washington defeated the host Pittsburgh Penguins 3-1 in the 2011 edition at Heinz Field while the Blackhawks lost 6-4 to the visiting Detroit Red Wings at Wrigley Field in 2009.
"Each year the NHL Winter Classic uniform system is designed to pay homage to hockey's outdoor roots," NHL Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President Brian Jennings said per NHL.com. "We are extremely proud of the collaboration by Reebok, the Capitals and the NHL to creatively balance Washington's hockey past with today's innovations."
The Capitals enter 2014-15 looking to bounce back from a rough 2013-14 campaign that saw the team go 38-30-14 (90 points) and miss the playoffs for the first time since 2007.
