No. 2 Oregon looks to get off to a fast start against the Pac-12 after having their national championship dreams crushed by a pair of conference losses last season. First up for the Ducks, the Washington State Cougars.

The Ducks will have to sure up their pass defense this week as Washington State will throw the ball early and often to keep up with Oregon. Washington State has thrown 177 passes through three games for an FBS-best 1,551 yards and starting quarterback Connor Halliday has 175 of those attempts for 1,465 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Washington State coach Mike Leach spoke about the matchup and said keeping pace with the Ducks will be a huge part of their game plan.

"Oregon's a fast team, they're an explosive team, and people that don't play within themselves will squander plays, and they're not a team you can afford to squander plays against," Leach said. "They're quick enough to make up for their mistakes. ... If somebody else makes a mistake, it might go for 15 yards. Oregon makes a mistake, it might go for six. You have to be prepared to execute more plays.”

Oregon leads the all-time series with Washington State 48-36-7 and have won seven straight against their Pac-12 rival.
