No. 4 Oklahoma has lost running back Keith Ford as they open up their Big 12 schedule against the West Virginia Mountaineers.

The Sooners lost Ford to a fracture in his right leg and he will miss time in the Oklahoma three-running back rotation. Samaje Perine (177 yards on 32 attempts) and Alex Ross (132 yards, 21 attempts) will look to pick up the slack left by Ford (195 yards and 34 carries).

West Virginia quarterback Clint Trickett said that the Sooners are a fantastic football team, but the team will come into the game with the same attitude they had against an equally great Alabama team.

"(The Sooners) are a great team and have a high power offense," Trickett told the school's official website. "They have a great defense as well and are returning a lot of guys. They are a traditional powerhouse. They are Oklahoma, but I said the same thing with Alabama. There is no such thing as an unbeatable team.

"We just have to find whatever weaknesses they have, if there are any, and try to exploit them.”

West Virginia is 6-12 in Big 12 play ever since joining the conference and Oklahoma is currently riding a even-game winning streak, second only to Florida States’ 18-game winning streak.

Oklahoma holds a 4-2 record against West Virginia all-time and have won two straight against the Mountaineers. West Virginia’s last win against Oklahoma was a 48-28 win in the Fiesta Bowl.
