No. 6 Texas A&M will seek their first 4-0 start in eight years as they take on the SMU Mustangs and new head coach Tom Mason.
The Aggies have scored 163 points through their first three contests. the most since 1917, and it is all due to the play of sophomore quarterback Kenny Hill. Hill spoke about the team’s success and said that there is room for improvement and they aren’t at their best yet.
"I think we started off slow. We never want to start it off slow," said Hill "We are going to work on that and fix that and be better next week. We just weren't really clicking and we weren't executing the way that we want to. Like I said we are going to get that fixed and be ready to go.”
Hill has 11 touchdowns and no interceptions through his first three games replacing Johnny Manziel and he has a chance to add to it against a SMU team that is going through tough times.
SMU coach June Jones stepped down from the team last week due to personal reasons and defensive coordinator Tom Mason will be the interim coach for the rest of the season. SMU is 0-2 after losses to then-No. 10 Baylor 45-0 at and 43-6 at North Texas.
Texas A&M is riding a 10-game winning streak against unranked opponents while the Mustangs have a five-game losing streak against ranked teams.
