San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick announced that the NFL has now fined him "over $11,000” for his unsportsmanlike penalty for inappropriate language in Sunday night's 28-20 loss to the Chicago Bears.
Kaepernick maintains that he "didn't say anything” to warrant the penalty and now the fine is adding insult to injury. Kaepernick commented on the fine and said that even Bears defensive end Lamarr Houston said that he didn't hear the quarterback say anything inappropriate.

"The player that I supposedly said something to has been quoted saying I didn't say anything," Kaepernick said. "And I don't know him, so it's not like he would have a reason to just randomly stick up for me.”
The play in question was early in the fourth quarter when Kaepernick threw an interception to Bears cornerback Kyle Fuller. Kaepernick and Houston starting mouthing off to each other near the sideline and that is when side judge Laird Hayes threw the flag.

It has not been made public what Hayes believes Kaepernick said and when he was asked about the incident after Sunday's game he said the 49er quarterback ‘knows what he said.’
Coach Jim Harbaugh said he cannot have a stance in the situation because he still has no idea what Kaepernick allegedly said.
"Because I don't know," he said. "I didn't hear it. But Colin's always been truthful 100 percent of the time.”
When asked if he thought the punishment was over the top, Kapernick laughed off the situation and down played the fine.
"I'm not speaking on that," he said, "or I'll get another fine.”
Kapernick said that he plans to appeal the fine.
