Fantasy owners watched in dismay as their top pick, Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, left Sunday's game with an ankle injury and didn't return. Today news has broken that Charles may miss several weeks with a high ankle sprain.

There's no timetable for how long he will take to recover, but head coach Andy Reid seems confident he won't be off the field for too long.

"It does have the component of a high ankle sprain. What does that mean? We'll see," Reid said, while also saying the sprain "doesn't look to be a real severe one."

That said, these are some options fantasy owners have that are widely available.

Knile Davis, Chiefs

Davis was the chief handcuff to Charles in the preseason, and smart owners already have him on the roster. Obviously his two touchdowns were frustrating to see if he was on the bench for these folks, but at least they know they have the man who will receive the lion's share of the work.

Don't expect him to replace Charles' production, because he doesn't have the look of an elite NFL rusher. He is a capable runner on the goal line though, with the ability to catch passes. Think Joique Bell.

Chris Ivory, Jets

In Week 2 Ivory was the most effective rusher in the Jets' three-headed attack, scoring a touchdown for the second straight game. He carried the ball 13 times, and only managed 34 yards though, as opposed to 102 in Week 1. That total was inflated by a 71-yard touchdown run-that can't be expected going forward, but goal line opportunities can.

He's owned in over 50 percent of leagues, so he could be snapped up already, but he's available enough that it's worth the effort to see.

Khiry Robinson, Saints

Robinson hasn't cracked 10 carries yet in either of New Orleans' first two games, but with Mark Ingram out he may fill in Ingram's role while Pierre Thomas remains more of a third-down pass catcher. Robinson has a touchdown already this year, and is averaging 4.21 yards per carry. Also, the Saints running game has been better than the passing attack in their two opening losses.

Ahmad Bradshaw, Colts

Bradshaw's status should be re-visited after tonight's matchup vs. the Eagles on Monday Night Football, since he is very injury-prone, but as it stands he's probably a better option for Indianapolis than Trent Richardson.

He was targeted six times in the passing game, making five catches for 70 yards, and his carries will rise if Richardson doesn't start making some big plays. His ownership is on the rise, so don't wait too long to make your claim or bid.
