The only game of the weekend that pits two ranked opponents against each other is a huge SEC matchup that could vault the Georgia Bulldogs into the NCAA playoff conversation and end South Carolina’s season.

South Carolina was the popular pick to win the SEC East in the preseason, but now the tides have turned as Georgia has looked much more impressive out the gate. The Gamecocks have been lackluster in their two games this season and have dropped in the AP Poll both weeks.

Coach Steve Spurrier spoke about how the tides had turned in the SEC East and how he is optimistic that a win this weekend would make all the Gamecocks’ issues disappear.

"Three weeks ago, we were advertised as the top team in the East and now (Georgia is) advertised as the top team in the East so a lot can change as we all know, but they're coming to our place," Spurrier said.

The Bulldogs come in after knocking off the Clemson Tigers in impressive fashion and running back Todd Gurley is making his case for the Heisman Trophy. South Carolina has had trouble defending the pass all season, but this week they will have to stop Gurley from putting 200 plus yards of total offense on them.

Georgia leads the all-time series with South Carolina 47-17-2, but have dropped three of the last four. Georgia won this meeting 41-31 last season.
