Mexico national team head coach Miguel Herrera had this to offer ahead of today's encounter (via San Jose Mercury News): "Chile has been a great performer, as we saw them in the World Cup. This is a very interesting game for us here in Santa Clara, this new stadium. We'll offer the best we can to our fans here. We thank you very much for allowing us to be back."
He went on to add that CONCACAF teams, specifically the United States, Mexico and Costa Rica, played a "great role" in the 2014 World Cup. "We're advancing [as a region]. We're taking giant steps forward."
Mexico can allow the region to take another giant step with a decisive victory over one of CONMEBOL's elite.
