Where They Stand:

Temple Owls (1-0, 0-0 American)

Both the Owls and the Midshipmen are coming off very impressive showings in Week 1, but Temple is 1-0 and Navy is 0-1.

Temple beat up on Vanderbilt 37-7 and clinched a nice win against the SEC for the American conference. Temple hadn't beaten a team in the current SEC since they defeated the Florida Gators in 1938.

Temple coach Matt Rhule spook about the victory and said that the win belongs to the players and he is incredibly excited for them.

“I was really happy for our kids,” said Rhule. “They’ve worked really, really hard, really since the end of the season last year. We got started the Monday morning after we beat Memphis and for them to go that long and then go out there and play well and get a win, I think was really, really good for them and I’m happy for them.”

Navy is coming off a 34-17 loss to the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes and they almost came away with the win. Navy had the Buckeyes at halftime with a 7-6 lead, but Ohio State pulled away late and triumphed over Navy.

Navy and Temple have played 10 times and have split the series five to five. Temple won the last meeting in 2009 27-24, but had dropped the previous four to the Midshipman.
