With Labor Day here and the summer of 2014 coming to an unofficial close, it's as good of a time as any to look back on the best moments this summer in the WWE. Things certainly heated up this summer in the WWE on RAW, SmackDown and its pay-per-views leading up to the huge SummerSlam event on Aug. 17 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Health Update On Jake 'The Snake' Roberts
Here is a timeline of the most memorable events to take place between June and August as the sun prepares to set on another summer of wrestling action.

6/2/14: The Dismantling Of The Shield:
It was an early summer shocker when Seth Rollins took a steel chair and walloped partners Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose with it, signaling the end of The Shield and the start of major storylines that would take up the rest of the summer. When Triple H said there is always a Plan B and Rollins turned heel, it was as shocking an event to take place on Monday Night RAW in quite some time. The dismemberment of The Shield made a huge impact on the WWE's storylines going forward.
6/29/14: Seth Rollins Becomes "Mr. Money in the Bank:"
Rollins' heel turn paid immediate dividends as he won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match that was for a briefcase with a contract good for a WWE Championship shot within the next year, automatically making his heel turn that much more important. While Roman Reigns began his ascent as the soon-to-be top babyface in the company and Rollins won the briefcase, Ambrose became even crazier and hell bent on making sure that Rollins won't have the opportunity to cash in his contract, adding more intrigue to the storyline of The Shield breaking up.
6/30/14: Chris Jericho Returns:
The June 30 edition of Monday Night RAW was very memorable as The Miz and AJ Lee returned to the squared circle, but the biggest comeback that night was that of Chris Jericho. "Y2J" once again made a surprising return and interrupted The Miz's reappearance. Jericho's summer party was then cut off by Bray Wyatt, who interrupted him and started a major summer storyline that continues to sizzle into the fall.
8/17/14: Nikki Bella Turns Heel:
After months of rumors, The red-hot Bella Twins officially split up when Nikki Bella turned on Brie Bella at SummerSlam, enabling Stephanie McMahon to defeat Brie at the second biggest show of the year. While the turn wasn't as shocking as Rollins' was in June, it still sparked a major storyline and split up the Bellas for the first time, which led to Nikki becoming a solid heel Diva. The turn now raises the question on what the WWE plans to do with Nikki's husband and top babyface John Cena in the future.
8/17/14: Brock Lesnar Wins The WWE Championship:
Brock Lesnar crashed The Biggest Party of the Summer and John Cena's title reign came to a screeching halt to close out the season. Lesnar dominated Cena at SummerSlam and left the Staples Center with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship which solidified Lesnar ending The Streak of The Undertaker back at WrestleMania XXX in April. Lesnar looked like a monster and lived up to his nickname of "The Beast" by dominating Cena with 16 German suplexes and finishing him off with the F-5. The win was even bigger because it put Lesnar over as even more of a threat after ending The Streak and destroying the company's top babyface.
It has been a memorable summer for the WWE and it set up some major storylines heading into the fall as the three members of The Shield continue to evolve, Nikki Bella's heel turn progresses and Lesnar stands on top of the WWE as an unstoppable champion.
