The Hurricanes and Cardinals kickoff the ACC schedule of games and bring Week 1 of college football to a close.

The Hurricanes are coming into the 2014-15 season with a whirlwind of controversy surrounding their quarterback situation. Freshman Brad Kaaya gets the nod for Miami after beating out 23-year-old Jake Heaps.

Coach Al Golden didn't say if Kaaya would be the teams starter past Mondays game as the Hurricanes are awaiting projected starter Ryan Williams to return from an ACL tear.

Louisville has their own adjustments to make at quarterback as Teddy Bridgewater has moved on to the NFL. Sophomore Will Gardner will be the Cardinals starting quarterback against Miami and will be the teams starter for the foreseeable future. Thsi will be the Cardinals first ACC game, as they joined the conference on July 1.

These two ACC football teams are certainly in transition, but start out 1-0 in the ACC this season would be a huge step in the right direction. Louisville represents the ACC Atlantic and the Miami is in the ACC Coastal.

The Hurricanes hold a 10-2 record against the Cardinals overall and will look to improve upon that on the latter's home gridiron.
