According to multiple reports, Josh Gordon is looking into alternative options to play football in 2014, including the Canadian Football League. The reports were soon swatted down by many reporters, who report that a player cannot play in the CFL when they are currently under contract with a NFL team.

For Gordon to have the ability to sign with a CFL team, the Browns would have to release the troubled receiver. The team has commented on the situation and will not let Gordon play in the league while he serves his one year ban.

The CFL is expected to release a full statement on the matter in the near future, but has acknowledged that they as a league slipped up when they allowed Ricky Williams to participate with the Toronto Argonauts when he was under contract with the Dolphins.
