No. 21 Texas A&M Aggies (0-0, 0-0 SEC West)

The SEC kicks off their regular season as the South Carolina Gamecocks take on the Texas A&M Aggies to ‘officially’ start the college football season.

This is the first year that college football will have a full blown playoff system and, at No. 9, South Carolina looks to be in prime position to contend for one of the four spots.

These two teams are loping to move past some of the most prominent players in their school’s history as Texas A&M lost Johnny Manziel and South Carolina lost No. 1 overall pick Jadeveon Clowney. Watching how these two teams, especially the Aggies, adapt to live without their stars will tell you everything about their upcoming season.

Gamecocks 10-year coach Steve Spurrier spoke about the new faces looking to make a name for themselves starting Thursday.

"They are probably a little bit like us that they haven't had a bunch of superstars to talk about this preseason," said Spurrier. "Their players are anxious to earn their way, just like our guys.”

One loss in the SEC could mean the end of any conference title dreams and one loss period could mean the end of any national championship dreams in college footballs new playoff system.
