The Phoenix Suns attempted to trade guard Eric Bledsoe to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin Love before he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, but some believe that Bledsoe to Minnesota isn't dead yet.

Rockets, 76ers Among Six Teams Interested in Ricky Rubio

According to Jerry Zgoda of The Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Timberwolves could still pull off a trade that will land Bledsoe and it involves Ricky Rubio.

“I don’t know if I’d say big, but sure it’s a possibility. If I were Flip and I could figure out someone to swap Ricky for Bledsoe and give him the max max, I’d do it quickly… I’d try to swing a deal that in some form would be Rubio for Bledsoe if the max max would convince Bledsoe to come here.”

There have been trade rumors about Rubio for the past few weeks as the imported point guard believes that he is worth a five-year max contract and will not settle for anything less. The Timberwolves and Suns find themselves in the same situation as their respective players want max contracts, but are only willing to offer the same four-year, $48 million deal that the Toronto Raptors gave Kyle Lowry.

Josh Smith Potential Replacement For Kevin Love?

Minnesota would likely have to sweeten the deal with more than just Rubio, but if the Suns can’t come to an agreement with the restricted free agent they will risk losing him to unrestricted free agency next summer.

This potential trade will likely be the talk of the NBA until Bledsoe comes to an agreement with Phoenix or the trade deadline comes and goes without a move.
