It seems Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes have taken a page out of Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier's book on how to promote a fight. While in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for UFC 179 media day, featherweight champion Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes got into a heated staredown that resulted in Aldo shoving the No. 1 contender.

Aldo and Mendes will fight on Oct. 27 in a rematch for the featherweight title. In the first meeting at UFC 142, Aldo knocked out Mendes with one second left in the first round with a brutal knee to the face for Mendes' first and only loss of his career. The fight was originally scheduled for UFC 176 on Aug. 2, but Aldo suffered a neck and spine injury in training and had to pull out from the fight resulting in the cancellation of the entire card.

Aldo and Mendes have had words leading up to their rematch. In July, Mendes questioned Aldo's injury and said the champion is "running" from facing him. Aldo called Mendes a name and questioned the "supplements" he takes, accusing him of using performance-enhancing drugs. Mendes fired back and also accused Aldo of using PEDs.
