NFL Draft: Tyrann Mathieu Stopped Counting Failed Drug Tests

Former LSU Tigers star cornerback Tyrann Mathieu told at least one NFL team that he failed so many drug tests in college that he couldn't even remember them all, according to a report by USA Today Sports. An assistant coach for one team told the paper that Mathieu was asked how many drug tests he failed in college. "I quit counting at 10," Mathieu answered. "I really don't know."

The assistant told the newspaper that the blame should equally be placed on LSU for neglegence as much as Mathieu. "If he flunked 10 tests before they suspended him, it shows that he got no kind of help," the anonymous coach said.

The "Honey Badger" gained national attention during his sophomore season with LSU, finishing fifth in the 2011 Heisman Trophy voting. Eight months later, Mathieu was kicked off of LSU's football team just before the beginning of the 2012 regular season.

Mathieu previously acknowledged that he put his love of Marijuana ahead of his love for football, and also spent time in jail in October on a drug-related charge.
