The Pittsburgh Steelers depth at running back appears to have suffered a blow following the arrests of Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount, who were traveling together when a police officer on a motorcycle smelled marijuana emanating from Bell's car.

The pair were pulled over, and admitted that 20 grams of marijuana that were found inside the car belonged to them. In addition to the possession charges, Bell could be charged with a DUI for driving while under the influence of marijuana.

Pittsburgh Steelers Fantasy Outlook

In Pennsylvania possession of 30 grams or less of marijuana can result in a $500 fine and up to 30 days in jail.

Fantasy owners who have already drafted are going to be thrown for a loop by this news. Le'Veon Bell's average draft position is 20th overall and 10th among running backs, placing him squarely in the Round 1 or 2 range. Blount is his primary handcuff.

There's no news yet on what action the NFL will take against these two, but a suspension is likely. If the two rushers are suspended, rookie Dri Archer is the most likely bet to step in.

Archer is a very different back than Bell or Blount; he stands at just 5-foot-8 and weighs 175 lbs. and his style is based on open-field quickness. Bell and Blount are straight-ahead bruisers, so a switch to Archer for any length of time will most likely cause a spike in Ben Roethlisberger pass attempts.

In his senior season at Kent State, Archer rushed 68 times for 527 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 7.8 yards per carry. He also contributed in the passing game with 25 catches, 327 yards and four scores. As a junior he carried his largest workload, carrying the ball 159 times for 1,429 yards and nine scores.
