Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller’s Heisman Trophy dream might be over before it began as the star quarterback reinjured his surgically repaired shoulder and is rumored to be out for the season.

Penn State's Christian Hackenberg a Heisman Dark Horse

Miller, a senior, underwent surgery on the shoulder in February and was expected to be all systems go for the 2014 season, but this recent injury has his entire future in doubt. Miller was seen as a prime Heisman Trophy candidate, but missing an extended period of time all but puts a nail in that coffin.

According to Bovada, Miller was the third most likely to win the Heisman Trophy in 2014 at 15-to-2 behind reigning Heisman winner Jameis Winston (9-to-2) and Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota (6-to-1). Miller is draft eligible, but his string of injuries have him as a middle of the pack prospect even before his most recent shoulder injury.
