Alberto Del Rio appeared at AAA's TripleMania XXII Sunday night in Mexico just days after being fired from the WWE and Rey Mysterio -- who is still under contract with the WWE - was shown in a video at the event, drawing the ire of the WWE.

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that WWE officials are not happy with Del Rio and Mysterio for working with the AAA promotion in Mexico this week. Del Rio was fired for allegedly slapping a WWE social media worker last week and can't wrestle in the United States for the next year due to it being a breach of contract.

The WWE is worried about being painted as racists within the Latino community, and Del Rio cut a promo claiming that the company was racist for firing him after he slapped a worker for making a racist comment about him behind his back. The WWE is angry that Del Rio is painting them as racists.

Mysterio, who is in a contract dispute with the WWE after it exercised an option to renew his deal for one year against his will due to how much time he has missed from various injuries, appeared in a video that aired at the end of the TripleMania XXII event Sunday night.

Mysterio congratulated the promotion on 22 years of success and told fans that he would be seeing them soon. A message was then shown saying #FreeRey which was likely a jab at the WWE for renewing his deal.

The video could cause the WWE to take legal action against the company for using one of their contracted talents without their approval.

PWInsider recently translated Del Rio's appearance on Televisa's Primero Noticias in Mexico where he talked about the incident that led to his departure.

Del Rio stayed mum on the incident for legal reasons, but said one day soon he'll reveal what happened to cause his release from the company. He said he did smack someone but that he was the victim in the whole thing.

Del Rio said he was a victim of racism and that it wasn't the first time in the WWE that he experienced racism from employees working there.

Del Rio said he spoke to WWE CEO Vince McMahon and that he said he understood why Del Rio reacted the way he did, but that the company had to suspend him. The WWE then changed its mind and opted to release him instead.

Del Rio said he was contacted by a few different promotions after Triple H called him to let him know he was released on Thursday. He then revealed that he was leaning toward not returning to the WWE when his contract expired in February anyway.

While Del Rio has a definite future in AAA, it remains to be seen if the WWE will go after Mysterio or AAA for having him appear in a video while he was under contract with the WWE.
