Texas and Washington face-off in the first American action of the second week of the Little League World Series.

Texas is coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Cinderella Philadelphia squad and look to bounce back quick against a underachieving, yet hungry, Washington team. Texas has the better lineup, but the Washington squad has a certain fire that has gotten them this far in the tournament.

Washington manager Robley Corsi Jr. said that taking the hard route to the Little League World Series championship is in his teams’ nature.

"We’ve been here before,” Corsi Jr. said, via Josh Brokaw of The Seattle Times. “We like to play baseball apparently.”

Texas put six runs on a Philadelphia team that has a strength in it’s pitching and defense so it will have to be a above average performance for Washington to compete in this one.

Both teams remain very alive in the the Little League World Series and the winner will play the victor of Illinois and Rhode Island later on Monday.
