New Cleveland Cavalier LeBron James believes that Kevin Love would be a big piece for the team hoping to win its first championship.

In his first public comments since returning to the team that drafted him, James said the possible acquisition of Love will be huge for the Cavaliers.

"If he comes aboard, I will be very excited to have him. I don't even really care about the 26 [points] and 12 [rebounds], I care about his basketball IQ. His basketball IQ is very, very high. I had the opportunity to spend 32 days with him in the 2012 Olympics. He was huge for us ... he's a great piece," he told ESPN.

But James said he doesn't want to get ahead of himself because the deal has not been finalized yet. League rules forbid a rookie from being traded 30 days after signing his contract, and that means this year's top rookie Andrew Wiggins can't be dealt yet to Love until August 23.

"We can't get too far into it because of league rules, we don't know for sure," James said. "I'm not getting my hopes too high on it right now because you don't know what could happen between now and the 23rd."

Should the Cavs get Love, the team will have undoubtedly the best troika in the league. James, Love and guard Kyrie Irving are All-Stars although the two have never been known as winners, having yet to appear in the post-season. That could all change with their potential partnership with James, a two-time NBA champion and four-time league MVP.
