Dolph Ziggler sat down with Michael Cole in the latest round of in-character interviews for WWE.com and he shed some interesting light on the company's storylines as he anticipates his Intercontinental Championship match with The Miz at SummerSlam.

Ziggler talked about growing up near The Miz and how they took very different paths on their collision course that leads them to SummerSlam on Aug. 17 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
"Since we were kids... [We] grew up a couple of minutes apart in the Cleveland area," Ziggler said. "Both [of us] had dreams of being WWE Superstars, being the best. And at some point, along the way, one of us worked really hard -- scratched and clawed for everything we could possibly get -- and one of us went a little Hollywood...and that's where the two of us...we don't mesh up anymore. We're not friends; we're not looking to hang out with each other. I can't stand that guy and right now he's the Intercontinental Champion."

Ziggler has won it all, being a two-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, but the WWE hasn't booked him a main eventer as of late and he will look for his second Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam which, though not the biggest prize in the game, is still important to him.
"Winning the Intercontinental Championship the very first time for me was this huge milestone because as I had grown up I lived off of watching some of those Intercontinental Championship matches," Ziggler said. "Some of the greatest Superstars of all-time...Mr. Perfect, Shawn Michaels...The Rock and Triple H tearing each other apart for that prestigious title."
Ziggler has 1.3 million followers on Twitter and counting, and Cole asked him why he has such a big following.
"I can understand why that following is there for me, but at the end of the day I do what I do and there's a reason people follow me," he said. "There's a reason people are rooting for me. It's because I'm "The Showoff" and I back it up. My entire life I've had a chip on my shoulder and wanted to be the best."
Ziggler talked about how he wants to be more than just hype and how he wants to keep people talking after his match at SummerSlam.
"I'm looking forward to it," he said. "Me and The Miz. Two totally different paths. One of us sees that Intercontinental Championship as a prop and one of us sees [it] for what it is. It is a stepping stone to being the best. It is a stepping stone to being the next guy in the WWE and I have to...at SummerSlam...I have to deliver. And when I get in the ring against Miz I will steal the show at SummerSlam."
The Miz vs. Ziggler is just one bout on a jam-packed card for SummerSlam on Aug. 17 live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
