Spurs guard Tony Parker will be in a Spurs uniform at least for the next three years after he signed a multiyear contract extension on Friday.

The French guard who won the Finals MVP award in 2007 told San Antonio Express-News, via ESPN.com: "So happy! Spurs for life!"

While terms of the deal were not announced, Marc Stein of ESPN is reporting that the deal is worth $43.3 million. Parker is scheduled to make $12.5 million in the upcoming season under the terms of his existing contract.

Parker, 32, has spent all his years in the NBA with the Spurs. He was drafted in the 2001 draft as an erratic 19-year-old but has blossomed into one of the best point guards in the league. A six-time All-Star, he averaged 16.7 points and 5.7 assists last season. Parker still has the speed to go into the lane, and he has also developed a lethal outside shot.

With the contract extension, the Spurs have managed to keep the core of this year's champion team. Franchise star Tim Duncan, 39 and Argentine guard Manu Ginobili,37, will be back next year. Likewise, the bench composed of Boris Diaw, Matt Bonner and Patty Mills.

The only remaining task for the Spurs front office this season would be to sign NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard to a long-term extension. The Spurs still have until October 31 to sign the versatile forward to a new deal, as he is foreseen to be the face of the franchise after the retirement of Duncan.
